Grapes: 100% Montepulciano
Soil composition: Clayey calcareous terroirs in microclimatic conditions varying from the foothills of the Majella mountain, to the sweet hills on the high side of the Adriatic Coast.
Altitude: 140-370 m. above sea level.
Exposure: South, South-East.
Cultivation system: Runner system and Abruzzo trellis.
Yield (hectolitres per hectar): 85
Harvesting period: Middle of October.
Vinification: Maceration of must with a controlled temperature for at least 20 days in small fermenting vats. Later the must is drawn and ripens on lees for some months.
Refinement: In stainless steel tanks and partly in oak barrels from Slavonia
Colour: Intense ruby red with light violet nuances.
Bouquet: Complex and intense, with scents of violet and sour cherry. Perceptible hints of liquorice and cinnamon.
Taste: Full-bodied, generous, harmonic, with velvety tannins
Alcohol content: 13,0 % vol.
