MOSCARDELLO
Moscato - I.G.T. - Terre di Chieti

“Moscardello” is the ancient local name for this delicious, sweet dessert wine. It's a distinguished and limited production, obtained from the noble Moscato grape.
In order to bring out its unique aroma, the vinification process is based on “natural” fermentation, which contributes to making “Moscardello” a jewel in the Abruzzo winemaking crown.

Location of vineyards: Hills of the Province of Chieti
Grapes: 100% Moscato
Soil composition: Medium mixture tending to be calcareousclayey in layers, varying from the foothills of the Majella mountain, to the sweet hills on the high side of the Adriatic Coast.
Altitude: 130-380 m. above sea level.
Exposure: South, South-East.
Cultivation system: Runner system and Abruzzo trellis.
Yield (hectolitres per hectar): 80
Harvesting period: Second and third ten-day period of August.
Vinification: After a light crushing, the must is kept in isolated tanks. The following slow fermentation in autoclaves exalts the aromatic particularities of the Moscato grape.
Refinement: In stainless steel tanks.
Perlage: Subtle and persistent.
Colour: Straw-yellow with greenish nuances.
Bouquet: Typically aromatic.
Taste: Sweet, delicate and long lingering.
Alcohol content: 7,5% Vol
Serving temperature: 8/10°C
Food pairing: Fresh pastries and dry cookies.
