Soil composition: Exclusive mixture soils with microclimatic conditions varying from the foothills of the Majella mountain, to the sweet hills on the high side of the Adriatic Coast. Calcareous-clayey soil in layers.
Altitude: 130-320 m. above sea level.
Exposure: South, South-East.
Cultivation system: Runner system and Abruzzo trellis.
Density of plants/ha: average density 3500
Yield (hectolitres per hectar): 65
Harvesting period: second and ten-day period of October.
Vinification: Hand picked grapes are traditionally vinified by a long maceration of the skins with submerged cap at controlled temperature. Wine is racked off, pumped over and decanted into stainless steel tanks at the end of the malolactic process.
Refinement: In big casks and barriques.
Colour: Intense ruby red with light violet nuances.
Bouquet: Complex and intense, sour cherry, plum and mulberry standing out from other scents.
Taste: Round, powerful and full-bodied, endowed with smooth tannins and a pleasant and persistent finish.
Alcohol content: 13,5 % vol.
Serving temperature: 18/20 C°
Food pairing: Main courses containing savoury sauces, green vegetable soups, roasted and grilled meat. Ideal with middle or long seasoned cheeses.
