Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC / Rosé
The history of Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo
The local rosé, has long been closely associated with Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Indeed, for over 40 years they were grouped under the same DOC. Indeed, the two wines derive from the same grape variety, the main difference of course being the skin contact time. However, something finally changed in 2010 and Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is now officially recognized as an independent DOC wine.
This wine is obtained from the white vinification of red grapes. It is a bright cherry red-coloured wine, with a pleasantly fruity bouquet, notes of cherry, and a dry, soft, harmonic taste. It goes very well with fish soups, pasta main dishes, light roasts, cheeses and pizza. To be served at 10/12°C.
